Latitude Financial Warns Customer Data Breach Could Widen and Hack 'remains active'

Latitude Financial, an Australian company, confirmed that driver's licences, passports, and Medicare numbers had already been compromised, raising concerns about the potential growth of the amount of client data that has been stolen. At the time, it was reported that 330,000 consumers' personal data may have been stolen. Now it was stated once more that copies of licences and their numbers made up the great majority of the data believed to have been taken. Nonetheless, it stated that copies of passports and Medicare cards made up about 5% of the items that had been proven stolen. The business warned on Monday that as it continues to examine "non-customer originating platforms and historical customer information," the extent of what was allegedly taken could expand.
