Kodi, an open-source media player software provider, has acknowledged a data breach in which hackers stole the company's MyBB forum database containing user data and private messages. The unknown hackers also tried to sell the data dump, which included 400,635 Kodi users, on the now-defunct BreachForums cybercrime marketplace. According to an advisory issued by Kodi, a trusted but currently inactive member of the forum admin team's account was used to access the web-based MyBB admin console twice on 16 February and 21 February.
