Once the Clop ransomware gang stole data via a zero-day GoAnyway zero-day vulnerability, Hitachi Energy acknowledged that it had had a data compromise. The Japanese engineering and technology behemoth Hitachi has a division called Hitachi Energy that specialises in power and energy systems. It brings about $10 billion annually. The Fortra GoAnywhere MFT (Managed File Transfer) zero-day vulnerability, originally reported on February 3, 2023, and currently tracked as CVE-2023-0669, was exploited to enable the attack. "We recently learned that a third-party software provider called FORTRA GoAnywhere MFT (Managed File Transfer) was the victim of an attack by the CLOP ransomware group that could have resulted in an unauthorized access to employee data in some countries," Hitachi said in a press statement.
